them there ghosts play a FREE show at 8pm on Saturday July 2nd. These fellas are a Massachusetts trio consisting of banjo, mandolin, and acoustic guitar. They blend country and blues with old timey kick you in the balls and steal your grandma badass. These guys are a must see. Come kick off your 4th of July weekend with some kick ass pickin'. The show wont cost you a goddamn thing so what's stopping you from coming down!?
"Ad Libitum"
Marcella Kurowski's latest works will be on display until September at FTS Gallery. The opening reception will be on Friday July 15th from 5pm until 11pm. The following is an article regarding the opening written by Lee Steele taken from his Art & Society blog found at leesteele.com:
"Forest To Shore Gallery is hosting a Marcella Kurowski exhibit, “Ad Libitum,” 5 p.m. Friday, July 15. FTS is probably the newest gallery in the area, situated in a second-floor space above a pub in Stratford’s historic downtown.
Some galleries get secondary revenue from framing; at FTS, it’s tattooing. Behind its dramatic, curved art wall are two small rooms where tattoo artists ply their trade.
You all remember Marcella. Formerly known as Looketha, she had a previous show at the old Black Rock Gallery, and has opened her studio to the public at the American Fabrics Building open houses. Her works defy description, but possess a strange, twisted beauty, and the art market has noticed. Already, at least one of her pieces at FTS has a big “SOLD!” sign on it."
John Torres live at FTS
On Friday, July 29th Mr. John Torres will be gracing FTS Gallery with his unique live performance. John is a singer/songwriter from the park city bringing a unique blend of folk and electronic music. This individual describes it as "folktronically fleeting ecstatic bliss." John Torres' musical maturity is evident in both his creativity and his musical chops. Give his latest song, "The Blackest Seed" a listen-- I am assured you will then see what I mean. <3
Life Drawing Sessions
Every Tuesday FTS Gallery will be holding figure drawing classes. Any and all skill levels are more than welcome to come hone their craft. So far the first two session have gone amazing! Good people, open mindedness, and great artists are a wonderful combination. There is a $10 fee (to pay for the model) collected before the class begins. Here are a few more pictures past sessions:
